Argalia's Challenge

As the knights sat down to feast
a stranger entered their halls
clad in golden chainmail
escorted by gigantic thralls

There entered after the stranger
a maiden exceedingly fair
Every knight in attendance
could not help but gape and stare

The stranger issued a challenge
to every knight there at court
to meet him tomorrow morning
and engage in jousting sport

If any beat him, he'd allow that knight
to take his sister as his wedded wife
but if they lost, they would become
his servants for the rest of his life

Constantine asked his guests
would they accept the challenge
every knight assembled there
said that he would
So they drew lots
to see who would be first
to test the stranger's lance
the following morning

Sacripant's name was drawn
tomorrow he would take the field
The other knights were envious
but to fortune they had to yield
