The Fall of Cinna

Sixteen hundred ships sail
From Greece to Italy
On board are Sulla's troops
Exhuberant from Victory
Sulla sends word to
those who rule Rome
concerning his intentions
to liberate his home

Cinna commands the army
to battle for his might
but against Sulla
they're reluctant to fight
When Cinna berates them
altercation breaks out
some soldiers draw their daggers
Cinna's death comes about

Carbo is sole consul
but soon his term does end
Then on Scipio and Norbanus
Sulla's foes must depend
Metellus returns from exile
to bolster Sulla's side
Crassus' son emerges from
Spanish caves where he does hide
