The angel of sleep shunned Ragnald that night
his lust for Angelique, was too strong to fight
Thoughts of Angelique, kept him awake in bed
He could not shake, her image from his head
Ragnald went to the stables
Bayard he did unbind
He rode through the countryside
in search of peace of mind
Bayard led him to
a clearing in the woods
where for many years
a magic fountain stood
An ancient wizard built the fountain
to free a prince from amorous lust
Those who drink from the fountain of loathing
find their longing turned to disgust
Once Ragnald sees the fountain
His thirst bids him to drink
When he sips it's magic waters
they transform the way he thinks
His feelings for Angelique
take a sudden new direction,
he now feels loathing for
his former object of affection
Ragnald rides back to the palace
and returns to his bed.
Now the angel of sleep
does bless his weary head
