Mithradates Extends His Grasp

Over the coasts of the black sea
King Mithradates rules
He covets Rome's possessions
and takes them for fools
He takes note of the civil wars
occupying Roman hands
He decides the time is right
to seize Roman lands

Mithradates inspires revolt
in those that hate
the Roman's domination
of Greek speaking states
the rabble go on a rampage
against those they resent
they kill those who've helped Rome
and those of Roman descent

Mithradates sends his fleet
into the Aegean sea
to support those Greek cites
who want to be free
He defeats the Roman legions
stationed in the east
payment of tribute to Rome
has suddenly ceased
