King Godmund congratulated
the strangers on their wins
He asked if there were more like them
There were back at their ship
Godmund then entreated them
to accompany him south
to the realm of of King Geiroth
husband of Godmund's sister
Every year he travelled there
with his champions to contest
with Geiroth's champions in
various types of athletic events
In recent years he had not fared well
Geiroth's warriors were mightier than
the warriors Godmand brought with him
Geiroth's men defeated Godmunds
Gorm's men escort Godmund
back to King Gorm's ship
where the kings meet
Godmund tells Gorm
of Geirroth's challenge
and asks for his assistance
Godmund invites Gorm
and the rest of his crew
back to his castle
There they eat and drink
Gorm's crew is entertained
by Godmund's twelve daughters
King Godmund asks King Gorm
if he and six of his sons
might sail with King Gorm to
the kingdom of King Geiroth
King Gorm is ready to
accede to Godmund's request
but Thorkel intervenes
and adds a stipulation
If Godmund and six of his sons
accompany Gorm to Geiroth
seven Danes men must stay behind
and bide their time at Godmund's palce
Reluctanly Godmund agrees
and the guests go off to bed
The next day they'll sail off to
King Geiroth's southern kingdom
